When Khalid does eventually announce the album, it will surely be followed by an announcement of a tour. Talking to Billboard, he described his inspiration for the album as “an album that really takes that a step further with all of the songs centreing around trying to find a purpose and a sense of self in a world where everything is digitally connected but emotionally disconnected”. Yet Khalid fans are still waiting for the album, and maybe that is a blessing in disguise. The first single from the album, ‘New Normal’, dropped on 21st July 2021, showing the album was supposed to come soon after. Of course, we are nearing the end of 2022 now and there is no album.
